Soviet Union launches the first man in space
Yuri Gagarin was the first man launched to space from the Soviet Union. The crewmen that sent him up there did not know whether or not if it was going to be a failure or success. His launch was scheduled around 9:07am on Moscow time. He was an international hero the second his foot touched the floor.
Martin Luther King's ''I Have a Dream''
On the 28th of August, in 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous 17 minute speech, "I have a dream"
calling for racial equality and to end discrimination with over 200,000 civil rights supporters in the crowd in the
Lincoln Memorial, Washington. This famous speech made a huge impact. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was later
passed for no more discrimination in all public places. Then in 1965, another of his protest was for African Americans
to have voting rights.

known in the Numerberg Trails that made him one of the top wanted Nazi war criminalists. In 1957, the Mossad, the
Israeli secret service, recieved a tip that Eichmann Maybe living in Argentina. After unsuccessful search of eichmann,
they later recieved another tip that he maybe living under the name, Ricardo Klement. So they went to search him
under his new name until in May 11, 1960, they finally captured Eichmann. Eichmann then was sent to trail on April
11, 1961 in Jerusalem, Israel. He was charged with 15 counts of crimes against the Jewish people, war crimes,
crimes against humanity, and membership in a hostile organization. 112 witnesses had told their horrible stories of
the experienced they had. As the court finally made their desicions on December 15, 1961 unfortunatley, they found
him guilty of all 15 counts and sentenced to death.

Betty Friedan Publishes The Feminine Mystique
Betty Friedan wrote a book The Feminine Mystique, telling readers her discoveries of a problem formed in the post
World War II society. "the problem that has no name.", as she called it. The problem after WWII was that women
should enjoy their role in society, pleasing their husbands, and raising their children. Women weren't happy at that
time because they were limit to the role in the society. This book explains her discoveries as a women to the society
and giving advices about the role of women.
