Peace
the Peace movement of the 1960's allowed many people to be antiwar. During this, they started to find each other's own individuality seeking and spreading peace and love. The Vietnam War also occured during this time making people more motivated to spread peace throughout America. This was not some sort of trend but it was an actual protest against war. Music, religion and arts were also a very big important role to this peace movement.

Music
The Music of 1960s was very important to the peace movement. Music brought out many young adults inner selves. The woodstock music festival was held for 3-4 days straight. There were 32 performances from one of the most popular global bands in those 3 days. Hundreds of thousand of people arrived and spent days and nights watching the acts. Some of the most well known artists of 1960s include The Beatles, Beach Boys, Elvis Presely, Shangri-Las and many more. The 60s are known as the Psychedelic Era. One of the biggest and important aspects of music was the use of drugs.
The People
Many People started debates for peace. This is why the counterculture was called the "Baby Boom". Originality was brought out with the fashion and slang words. Colors were tye-dyed onto shirts, cars & almost anything else you can imagine. Young adults brought out the hipsters of 1960s and had quite an amount of fashion trends such as bell-bottom jeans, peace necklaces and huge sunglasses. Many of the traditions went against the middle class. Young adults grew out their hair and wore headbands around their heads. These people were known as "Hippies".
